Review of 2014

Hello everybody! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and a great new years! I just wanted to give a quick overview of the past year with what I completed and new things that I learned throughout the year.

The first project that I completed was a HG Mechanics Val Walo kit that I had bought. It was really just a for fun piece to practice air brushing on so I didn't take any pictures. I was very happy with the way that it turned out though and I learned a lot working with the brush and new paints that I bought.

The second kit that I finished was my MG 1/100 Unicorn Gundam. I am really happy with how this model turned out and I learned a lot working on it. I experimented with a new weathering technique which I think gave great results. I also did a lot of air brushing on this kit and experimented with OSL in a few places. If you haven't seen it take a look at it here!

I did have a few other kits planned to finish but I just did not have the time to work on them this year unfortunately. They are however first on the list for this year! I'm currently 3/4 of the way through building a Throne Zwei Gundam, and I have a Acguy and a Gaplant Hrairoo on the work bench. The Acguy will be pretty heavily weathered and I will be practicing new techniques that I have picked up this past year too so I am pretty excited about that!

That wraps up this post, I should have more to post in the near future and if you have any questions let me know and I will try my best to answer them!

All together 2013 was a pretty good year, I graduated from college, I started grad school, got an amazing girlfriend, and made some pretty cool models! So lets begin the recap...

Hand painting vs. Air brushing

So in my last post I mentioned that I received something special in the mail, and that would be my new air brush! Yup, that's right I am taking the plunge into airbrushing! I figured I would talk a little bit about hand painting and air brushing and why I'm making the switch.

Painters burnout

Lately I've just been having a hard time with painting. Either parts break on me or I just don't like the finish I am getting on the model. This started a couple months ago after completing the GM Ground Type for the group build. I started working on a kit that I had already put together and just needed to paint it. I hated the way it looked and the finish was terrible on it. I ended up just throwing the kit away. Then my girl friend's

My Goal for 2014

So I have a pretty lofty goal for next year. I have always wanted to paint a Warhammer army and I think I'm finally going to do it! After I saw the new Lizardmen releases I knew that this is the army that I wanted. So after lot of searching I decided on this list for my army...

On the Work Bench

Hey everybody!

I just figured I would have an update about what is going on both in my life and about model building. Even though everybody in this hobby would probably like to be able to work on models all day.... life, work, and other responsibilities usually get in the way of that!
